On Saturday the 23rd, we had the chance to engage in an exciting tourist adventure. We visited Yala National Park to go on a safari trip. The highlight was when a lone elephant walked slowly past us to drink from the nearby water. It was truly incredible! We later found out that lone elephants can be dangerous but at the time we were just focused on getting some great photos.
On the Sunday we mainly rested and relived the stories from the previous day. Although, we did have a doubles badminton tournament to entertain ourselves.
Monday the 25th, and back to coaching the university students. The day had a slow start as the 8.00 am fitness session was cancelled due to “adverse weather conditions”; it was raining but for us British sport students we deemed it acceptable. Interestingly, despite a minimal change in conditions the morning sports were on. We coached athletics, tennis and badminton.
On the evening of the 25th, we had our 3rd karate lesson during which we made the decision to push ourselves and attempt to earn our Grade 1 belts (white with yellow trim).
