On this day, we took the bus from Matara to Moreketiara in the morning, to teach a grade 2 class in the afternoon.

Once we arrived at Moreketiara, we were welcomed by Primitha’s husband who showed us the way to his home, where we met Primitha and her baby son, Sasindu. Lunch had already been prepared, and was superb! We went on to the school after lunch, where we were greeted by the principal and the English-speaking teacher. We were sent to the class and began straight away with the Hello Song, and then involved the children into basic English conversation, asking how they were, how old they were and revising numbers.

This being done we returned to Primitha’s house, and made plans for visits to schools in the rest of our week’s home-stay. We also went to the local beach!
