The Awesome Day (Part 1)

I looked on helplessly as the little girl cried at me. I tried pulling all my best faces to make the tears end, but that just seemed to make her wail even louder. Her mother, however, was utterly unconcerned that I’d inadvertently traumatised her child by giving her what was evidently an insane snaggle-toothed grin rather than the charming smile I thought I had produced. She persisted in ,encouraging’ her by now hysterical child to talk to me and so I brought in the big guns. I got Dirk and Erin to sing her a song while I made a quick getaway.

I managed to get through the rest of the day without making a single child weep with terror and did a fantastic interview with a woman who I had never met before.
