In the summer of 2024, 8 highly qualified dental and maxillo-facial surgeons and allied fields visited Peradeniya Teaching Hospital in Kandy to engage in training for the staff there in the areas of sedation in the dental chair, maxillo-facial surgery, digital planning for surgery, advanced airway management, resuscitation, and quality assurance of teaching programmes.

All of this was done in a voluntary capacity, with travel and equipment supported by donations from Rotary Clubs and Districts in the UK and a matching grant from The Rotary Foundation of Rotary International. They made tremendous impact and the results of their work will undoubtedly save lives and contribute to the long term success of the Peradeniya Medical Faculty.
