Painting in Vikumgama – Week 7 by Hannah
We have now started painting the pre-school at Vikumgama and it is coming on really well. It was decided that we would have a cream base coat on both the inside and outside walls and also paint the window frames light blue. This has now been completed and the building is looking a lot better already.
There was a lot of discussion on what design to have on the outside, and in the end the team voted for sea along the bottom of the wall and a jungle island at one end. Fortunately Jianan is very good at drawing and has sketched an elephant, giraffe and monkey outline. We are also planning to have the PSL logo on the other wall with everyone’s handprints underneath.
As for the inside design, so far Em B has drawn and painted a rainbow on one of the walls and I’ve painted the numbers from one to ten over the door on another. The next job for the inside is to paint the alphabet on the beams.
I think we are all finding painting hard work with it being so hot in Vikumgama, but it is also a lot of fun and I can’t wait until it’s all finished.
