This week, Emily B and I were allocated to Vikumgama. Every day, we followed a structure to our lesson plan. Firstly, we would introduce ourselves and sing the “Hello” song in a circle. We carried on with the alphabet theme, teaching the children 2 letters of the alphabet each day, and then carried out art and craft activities to reinforce the alphabet. We would end the morning with the “Goodbye” song.

On Friday, we made animal glasses with the pre-school children, they really enjoyed the activity. They were running around chasing each other and pretending to be the animal they have on! The after-school children enjoyed the water bombs and we also introduced the game Netball. But the children made it their own, it turned into a game of netball/rugby!

Every day, we had lunch in the village. The people of Vikumgama were really friendly; they always provided yummy food. We felt very welcomed into the village.
