Sabaragamuwa University 16th-20th July by Emily B
Me, Hannah and Omari left Moonbridge for the university on Sunday. The journey was a long one – 8 hours on the public bus which wasn’t the most fun on a hot public bus. Safe to say we were very happy when we got there. The plan for the week was to teach in 3 government schools around the area, and to check in on our own schools. When we weren’t working in the evenings, we were able to use the University’s Olympic sized swimming pool, which we thoroughly enjoyed – Met the swimming team who were really nice. The university is situated in the hill country and is surrounded by mountains. The view was amazing driving up to Ihalagalagama on Friday, drove past tea plantations and paddy fields. Good week! Met lots of people and amazing views.
