Village Schools – Wednesday 11th July, 2012 – Eghosa Nehikhare
Today I visited Hiththathiya Village pre-school alone because Laura had to go monitor Aththudawa village pre-school by paying them a surprise/unexpected visit. The teachers and pupils of Hiththathiya village pre-school welcomed me warmly. The large number of children that attended this session marvelled me. They were twenty-one in number on this day. We (the kids, teachers and I) sang songs such as the ‘Hello’ song and ‘Head, shoulders, knees and toes’. The children took part joyously and always wanted me to do more with them. We danced and played games. I was so touched and delighted to work with the teachers and children.
The after-school club was also good. Initially, the girls were shy but after a while, they loosened up and got massively involved.
