I spent this week staying with Primitha and Jayalath in their home at Moreketiara. I had a fantastic week and it was really good to experience Sri Lankan life in a Sri Lankan home!This week we were continuing the teaching at Ocean University. They were such a nice group of students who were really eager to pick up some English skills so we generally taught them conversational English over the week and also worked on their grammar. It was really refreshing to teach students that were our age as you could tell that they really wanted to be there so they were really attentive and asked lots of questions! At the end of the week I got coerced into singing for the group which was slightly embarrassing but everyone seemed to enjoy it! They also sang a Sri Lankan song in return which was really nice!

On Wednesday and Thursday morning we also taught a holiday club at Primitha’s house. We taught the children for two hours which was a rather long time but we managed to fill it in the end with lots of songs and games!

Overall I had a fantastic week and really learned a lot about Sri Lankan life. Primitha, Jayalath and their baby were amazing hosts. I will never forget my time there!
