July 19th (Jess)
As usual a tough fitness session commenced at 8am for the University students followed by coaching in netball, football and swimming…
Jess and Jonny travelled to the Puakgalawele Community Learning Centre for the morning, where they were met by many excited young faces. They lead the children straight outside to begin playing games in the mountainous setting. They used the parachute which last years group had donated, which was very popular with the children!! They then continued with games using cones and bean bags which helped aid the children in learning colours. Before the pair left they sat with the children drawing and colouring.
In the afternoon four of the group went to the new Community Leaning Centre of Pambhina to continue the English teaching programme, the classes were very highly attended. As Matt was not teaching English this particular day, he met some of the University staff for a couple of competitive games of badminton. A successful day all round!
