Friday 30th July by Lauren
We spent another lovely (and hot) day in Kirelawela today. The children were lovely if a little noisy (who knew four year olds could have that Friday feeling) as we taught them the okie cokie and heads shoulders knees and toes, rounding off with the favourite ‘the wheels on the bus’.We also tried to teach them the English alphabet, which seems to be going well – I’ll be sad that I’m not going back next week. In the afternoon, we made woven pictures in our arts and crafts section with the afterschool club, read some english books with them, with Winnie the Pooh emerging as a particular favourite, and played sports with them outside. All of the children seem to love badminton (and quite often beat us!), and Liam put in an excellent effort learning how to skip with some of the girls. He even managed a few tricks!
