Today the cinnamon team visited Mr Bandule’s cinnamon factory. We were quite excited about this as it gave us the opportunity to compare this with the facilities of Mr Runage.We found them to be similar except in terms of size with Mr Bandule’s factory being smaller. Both factories use the rubbing machine and use ISO methods.

After this we met with the Assistant Director of Agriculture and Export and discussed subsidies for cinnamon farmers. More to come in the report.

Richard went back to Tangalle to the Fishing  institute to meet  smaller boat owners and fisherman and descovered the legacy of an abandoned Italian aid project in the grounds of the Institute.
