Today we were unexpected in Gandarawatte. Not too sure why, but we weren’t and as a result, the day was short lived. 9-11:30. There were 5 children at the school. We sang songs first, then moved over to arts and crafts where we helped them make fish pictures out of foil. We enjoyed a good cup of tea before more circle games with the children until their home time. Usually from 11:30 – 1 we go over to the temple and chat to the monk and various visitors and then enjoy a huge lunch, but today there had been an important village meeting and nobody was at the temple so no lunch had been laid on. Nothing for it but to call it a day and head home to plan lessons for Hiththatiya, until 4pm that is when Hiththatiya lessons finish and the kids go home, so we can go over and continue to paint the mural. The painting is coming along really well and I think we will be finished within the next week.
