Sunday 26th July by Sam
Our final day on the coast was a very relaxed affair. Once everyone had surfaced, the morning was once again spent on the beach with the regular salesmen and women trying to flog you all of their products. Our necks were actually quite painful by lunch due to the length of time we’d spent shaking our heads saying no! Lunch was had in the hotel while everyone tried to get every last ray of sunshine before jumping on the bus back up to the hill country. The journey back was again quiet as everyone tried to catch up on some sleep, and a 5 hour bus journey isn’t the most interesting way to spend your afternoon in Sri Lanka! Once back at the university, dinner was warmly welcomed before new groups were decided upon for the coming week in Ihala Galagama and the university. Finally after lots of traveling, our beds in the bungalow were a welcome sight, with the tired group settling down for another week of work.
