Day Eight
Today we were up bright and early in the Sri Lankan sunshine to prepare for our first debrief with Mr Runage. We made recommendations including some quick wins and were very pleased to hear Mr Runage state that he felt we knew almost as much about cinnamon as he had learned in his 30 years. Given that we walked in on day one saying we know nothing about Cinammon, this was great to hear that our hard work had paid off.
After this we met local producers and made similar recommendations for quick wins to them. One or two did not believe that in a week we could have fed back such insightful views and one even asked why we were doing this.
Finally, we enjoyed our final rice and curry with accompaniments and a final chat with Jaggath before we retired pending a 3am start back to Colombo.
